Our Story...

Her  Story

Holland was born and raised in the small mountain town of Ruidoso, NM. Her family brought her up with a strong love for arts, travel, the outdoors and adventure. By the young age of two she was taught to ski and the fire of riding down a mountain was ignitied in her. She learned the beauty of travel on raod trips to her family in Canada, Texas & California. There was also something else deep within her soul, a calling that could not be ignored. From the clear stary nights in the mountains she longed for the sea. So she went searching and went around the world on a ship during college heeding the call of the ocean, only to feel it pull on her  more and more. She longed for the salty breeze, the sand in her toes, and not just any sea. The warm tropical waters of the Central Pacific. As a teenager Holland studied the Marshall Islands, not knowing that years later she would be called to the tiny island of Kwajalein. Where not only she answered the call of the beckoning ocean, but the deeper call... her trueloves  call. This is where she met Patrick Kevin Gorman.

His  Story

Patrick was born in Barstow, CA. After living in Oklahoma and Arkansas, his family settled in Little Rock. He has always had an affinity for the water and learned to scuba dive and surf when he was 12 in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. While attending the US Merchant Marine Academy, he began sailing on racing yachts. After graduating, he went to work as a professional mariner. His profession on the sea and passion for watersports led him to a little known atoll in the Central Pacific called Kwajalein. That is where he met his love, Holland Fanchon Dorn.

Their Story

There are many pieces to this love story. The most important piece is the piece that was placed on the hand of  Holland as she said yes to Patrick on top of the Hatteras Lighthouse on September 13, 2013 as he asked for her hand in marrige. We look forward to joining with our family and freinds as we become husband and wife!
